[Up] Guy Wilks

Guy Wilks (born 22 January 1981 in Darlington, County Durham) is a rally driver, from Great Britain.

Wilks first tried his hand in a rally car at the age of 19, having, for some years in his teens, made motorcycle trials his more preferred exploit. He was Ford Ka Junior Champion in 2000 in his first year in the sport, graduating within the Ford stable's fabled 'Ladder of Opportunity' scheme to the Puma 1400 cc series for 2001. There, he mustered second place in the championship.

He followed this success up with a berth in one of Ford's Super 1600 specification Pumas for the 2002 British Rally Championship season. His efforts in only being outdone that year by relative national-level veteran Gwyndaf Evans, only served to secure him yet more support from Ford, which placed him in one of its cars for the Junior World Rally Championship in 2003, being rewarded with his sixth place finish in the points standings that season. This competence earned him attention from championship incomers Suzuki, whose Ignis model would prove to be Wilks's ride of choice for 2004.

Notable for the ensuing three seasons for his regular forays for the Japanese marque's 'works' team in the Junior World Rally Championship alongside Swede Per-Gunnar Andersson, Wilks, in spite of numerous near-misses, would ultimately fail to gather the title in quite the manner his team-mate had managed to do in 2004, although he did manage third in the standings that year, to add to his Super 1600 category title in the British Rally Championship that year, and was to better it by a place - and in doing so usurp Andersson - in 2005. The grandest prize, however, continued to elude him in his spell in the series. He was quietly axed at Suzuki, alongside Andersson, just at the moment that the marque's anticipated fully-fledged World Rally Championship participation was being confirmed for the latter half of 2007.

With the British series now operating to Group N production car regulations, Wilks joined the Mitsubishi Motors UK Works team for a successful tilt at the full title in 2007. His British commitments were designed to dovetail continuing adventures in the World Rally Championship, with Mobil 1 support allowing him to make his World Rally Car debut in Norway.

After a number of costly events on which he repeatedly shunted his private Ford Focus WRC, he managed his first top ten finish in the car on the Acropolis Rally in Greece and picked up his first points with sixth place in Rally Ireland.

[Up] Roman Kresta

Roman Kresta (born 24 April , 1976 in the Czech Republic), is a professional rally driver. In 2005, he drove for Ford M-Sport in the World Rally Championship. His co-driver is Jan Tomanek. The pair won the Czech national rally championship in 2000, prior to their début in the WRC.

Kresta's first World Rally was the 2001 Acropolis Rally, driving a Ford Focus WRC. He has also driven for the works Skoda team, and as a privateer with Hyundai and Peugeot. His performances in his sole season with the works Ford World Rally Team team in 2005 were not enough to prevent him from losing his seat to Mikko Hirvonen at the end of the season.

After the 2005 season, Kresta worked for Ford as a test driver. He has not competed in a world rally since the 2005 Rally Australia.

[Up] Nandakumar Puspanathan

Nandakumar Puspanathan (born 23 June 1974), is a Malaysian rally driver.

He began his rally career in the Malaysian Rally Championship 2001, driving a privately entered Proton Satria 1600. He soon gained a reputation for clocking spectacularly quick stage times, although they were sometimes accompanied by equally spectacular crashes or mechanical failures.

In 2004, Nandakumar teamed up with co-driver Suresh Parkash Sharma and the pair began chalking up class victories and top 5 overall finishes.

The pair went on to win the National 1600 Championship for the year and were awarded the “Malaysian Most Promising Rally Driver Award for 2004” by the Automobile Association of Malaysia.

The following year saw Nandakumar and Suresh Sharma contracted to factory team, Perodua M5 Racing Team.

Piloting the diminutive Perodua Kelisa 1.3 to numerous top 5 finishes overall and countless class wins showcased the talent and versatility of the pair and they went on to finish 5th overall and win the National Championship in their category in 2006.

With the introduction of the Myvi by Perodua, an experimental 1.6 litre Front wheel drive rally version made its debut in mid 2007 with Nandakumar at the wheel.

The Myvi however seemed to be constantly plagued by electrical gremlins and mechanical failures and although the pair achieved a few podium finishes in the car, there were quite a number of retirements as well.

After a transmission failure in the second round of the Malaysian Rally Championship 2008, Nandakumar was dropped by the Perodua Rally Team, citing budget cuts and race based policies as the reason for the decision. Not surprisingly, Nandakumar,a malaysian born ethnic indian was later replaced by rally driver Jamaludin Tukmin, an ethnic malay.

Unfazed, Nandakumar and Suresh Sharma entered the following round in their old 1.8 litre Proton Satria as privateers and finished that round on the podium at the same time winning their class while consistently clocking faster times than their former teammate Kan Chee Hong before the latter retired.

In the following rounds, the duo managed to secure a drive with the GSR - Pennzoil Racing Team with an offer to run them as the third car in the team, making them team mates to Production World Rally Champion, Karamjit Singh and Malaysian Rally Champion Gunaseelan Rajoo.

With such an impressive line up, the Pennzoil team then proceeded to dominate the Malaysian Rally Championship at every round while Nandakumar extended his lead in the 2 wheel drive category.

The final round of the Malaysian Rally Championship 2008 at Sepang was indeed a spectacular one for the team, with Nandakumar and Suresh finishing the rally 1st in class and 3rd overall behind team mates Karamjit and Gunaseelan. Once again delivering an impressive performance to end the Malaysian Championship 2008 4th Overall and Best 2 Wheel drive.

Nandakumar is also an automotive engineer, trained by Lotus Engineering as a chassis development engineer and test driver. This helped him develop a potent combination of engineering ability and driving skill.

[Up] Thomas Rådström

Thomas Rådström (born 22 January, 1966), nicknamed "Rådis", is a rally and rallycross driver from Sweden. He was one of the leading drivers of the National Swedish Rallycross Championship series during the second half of the 1980s. He then started rallying and competed in the World Rally Championship for nine consecutive years during 1994–2002, and returned in 2006.

He won the Swedish Rally Championship in 1996, and his most significant international successes have been in his home event, the Swedish Rally which he won in 1994. This was the first of four podiums and seven top ten finishes in nine attempts at this event.

He was a Toyota works driver from 1991–98, before switching to Ford for a season, competing as the team's star signing Colin McRae's gravel and snow event wingman in the debut season of the Ford Focus WRC. He returned to Toyota in 2000, and from 2001–02 was employed by the then Championship newcomers, Citroën, with the exception of one outing in the Group A Lancer Evolution for Mitsubishi Ralliart at the 2001 Swedish Rally, where he finished second. He scored another podium, now aboard the Xsara WRC, in 2002: a third place on the gruelling Safari Rally, on his team's first visit to the event.

In the Swedish Rallycross Championship as well as in the FIA European Rallycross Championship Thomas Rådström is currently driving a 500+bhp strong Hyundai Accent T16 4x4.
