Dangxiong railway station, or Damxung railway station () is a railway station in Damxung County, Lhasa, Tibet.
Damxung (Tibetan: འདམ་གཞུང་རྫོང་Wylie: 'Dam-gzhung rdzong; simplified Chinese: 当雄县; pinyin: Dāngxióng Xiàn) is a county far north of the main centre of Lhasa, Tibet. Its seat is in the small modern town of Damxung.

A path leads down from the roadside through the village and down a hillside where a small monastery (gompa) named Pelgye LingTibet: Highlights in Brief has been built. Milarepa's cave is entered from the gompa's vestibule. Pilgrim's offerings of decorated stones along the path and sweet-smelling herbs and wild flowers growing all around make this a place of great peace and beauty. The cave itself is kept as a shrine by two monks, guarding a statue of Milarepa enclosed in a glass case.
Restoration work within the cave and the monastery was undertaken by artists and craftsmen from NepalDowman, Keith. 1988. The Power-places of Central Tibet: The Pilgrim's Guide. Damxung is a small modern Tibetan town of low-barrack like buildings and is the administrative centre of Damxung County near Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Unlike many of the quaint old Tibetan settlements in the more southern farming areas of Tibet this town is modern, built up during the 1960s by the Chinese. Damxung is an important spot in the region for government functions and general supplies. It has a large warehouse set back from the main street where basic necessities and warm clothes can be bought for trekking through the mountains. Its nearest towns are Yangpachen to the south and Nagqu to the north.
A major Tibetan festival called Dajyur takes place at Damxung at the beginning of the eighth month of the lunar calendar (solar September) for ten days of festivity attracting nomads to compete in horse racing and yak racing events, bicycle riding contests, rock-carrying competitions and other forms of merriment.
Nyalam (; Pinyin: Nièlāmù) is a small Tibetan town near the Nepal border. It is the county seat of Nyalam County in Xigaze Prefecture (part of the historical Tsang Province of the old Tibet). It is 35 km from Zhangmu town in the same county, which is the point of entry of Nepal.
Nyalam is situated at 3,750 metres (12,300ft) above sea level. A town of stone buildings and tin roofs, it is nicknamed 'The Gate of Hell' by the Nepalese traders because the trail between Nyalam and the Nepalese border was so treacherous to negotiate.

Tingri used to be an important trading post where Sherpas from Nepal exchanged rice, grain and iron for Tibetan wool. livestock and salt. It gives its name to the broad upland basin more than 4,500 metres high that is known as the Tingri Plain. One must cross the pass known as the Lakpa La (5,220 m) to the north to reach the Tsangpo Valley system. Shallow, fast-flowing rivers of melted snow water make its grassy meadowland ideal for grazing by Tibetan animals. The Chinese army has a small base nearby.Tingri Lankor (Ding ri glang 'khor) - Padampa's Residence was founded in 1097 CE by the South Indian Buddhist adept, Padampa Sangye (died 1117) who made five visits to Tibet and was an important person in the re-establishment of the Buddhadharma in Tibet. His consort was the famous Tibetan dakini Machik Labdron. The gompa or temple was built in the Padampa Sange's meditation cave and became the seat of the Dampapa School of Tibetan Buddhism.
